Ana sayfa / News

Peugeot announced that it will not follow the ‘retro’ trend in the car market, going in the opposite direction of its competitors. The company has clearly stated that it will not include retro designs for its new cars in the future. Peugeot’s design chief Matthias Hossann made important statements on this issue in an interview with the British Autocar magazine. Here are the details…

The company’s design chief Matthias Hossann said in a statement: ‘Sometimes I think it’s good to do retro design when you need to relaunch a brand, because it creates a kind of centre of attention for the brand at some point. But that’s not the case with Peugeot at the moment.

In this case, Hossann stated that the company’s current focus is on developing cars with designs that create a sense of future and modernity. For example, Renault is known as one of the competitors that choose to design vehicles with retro elements in their designs. Like this, many other companies have recently started to pay attention to retro-designed vehicles.

Full electric Peugeot e-408 introduced! Here are features and price

Peugeot recently announced the Peugeot e-408, a fully electric Fastback sedan. Here are its features and price...

The manager in charge of Peugeot’s design department continued his words as follows:

“When we design a Peugeot as a team, we say “let’s really invent the future”, but we also have solid foundations. We have a great story. I’m not saying we’ll never look back – we already have a great example in the E-Legend. But at the same time, how do we ultimately turn it into something really futuristic? I think that’s the challenge.”

The E-Legend model Hossann is referring to was launched in 2018 and is known to be inspired by the 504. However, the company’s future cars will be inspired by the Inception Concept shown in 2023, which brings a much bolder, more aggressive line and focuses on a more futuristic design.

So what do you think about this? How do you find modern vehicles with retro design?
